In the 1950s, the Guerlain family set out to create a fragrance inspired by the remarkable vetiver roots. After several trials, the Guerlain perfumer managed to achieve a subtle blend that evokes the earth’s breath under the pale light of dawn. Vetiver is masculine and elegant woodsy fragrance. It was created in 1961 and re-launched again in 2000. The bottle was changed and the color of the perfume, but the fragrance remained gorgeous, just like before.

This evocation of the early morning universe is enhanced with a woody accord and the refined elegance of spices and tobacco, revealing a unique and sophisticated fragrance. The fragrance opens with the spontaneous, spiced freshness of citrus such as orange, bergamot, and lemon. In the heart, spices like nutmeg and pepper intensify the fragrance before giving way to vetiver, tobacco, and tonka bean. A fresh woody accord for a truly elegant fragrance.
